Plugging in at Harvest

Home / Plugging in at Harvest We ask people who want to be part of our community to commit to three things:
  1. Come to worship faithfully
  2. Get involved in a Small Group
  3. Find a place to serve
You see, Harvest is all about participation, not being a spectator. God does not call us to live in isolation as Christians but commands us to live in fellowship and in community with other believers and to be active in His kingdom. “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near" (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Together we should regularly engage in worshipping our awesome and amazing God, and we should regularly dig deep into His Word, being taught by gifted teachers. ‘Worship’ and ‘Word’ are two words you will hear often around Harvest. The other word you will hear with these two is ‘Work’. God calls His children to a life of service as stewards to and for Him.

We are to work – work in using our spiritual gifts to build up or edify the body of Christ, the church. We are to bless and honour Him by serving Him and others.

We believe that this idea of community and that a vast majority of the service we are created by Him to carry out happens either on Sunday morning or in a Small Group. Harvest is all about Sundays and small groups. As we do these well, this will fuel our passion to include others in these blessings, so we will get serious about evangelism and telling others about Jesus Christ.

In addition to worship, small groups, and ministry service, there are several other ways to get "plugged in" at Harvest. Two of the most important are Party with the Pastors and Peak Performance. As steps towards church membership, "Party" and "Peak" are offered regularly, and more information about them is available on the front page of the webiste.
