Greeters, Guest Center and Ushers volunteers provide a crucial ministry to our church which helps us to set the atmosphere of worship to which the Lord has called us.  More information about each opportunity is shown on this page.  To volunteer or further information, contact Steve Hamby, Director of Hospitality: .

Greeter and Guest Center Volunteer

Primary Purpose:
Welcome! Ensure that everyone who arrives for our worship service receives a warm and friendly welcome. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greeter: Be at the main doors by 9:30am and remain until 10-15 minutes after the worship service begins.
  • Guest Center: Be at the Guest Center by 9:45am and remain until 10-15 minutes after the worship service begins. Assist guests brought to you by any Hospitality Team Member and assist them with any questions about HBCD. Assist in getting children to Higher Ground.
Events Volunteer
Primary Purpose: Provide an atmosphere that allows for relational growth during church wide events. The events include, but are not limited to: Quarterly Fellowships, Picnics, Off Ground Services.

Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure decor, food, and beverages are set up and ready to go for the event. Continued service during the event and clean up afterward.

Usher Volunteer (Contact Rich Tempel, Usher Coordinator)
Primary Purpose:
Service Order and Security. Ushers help keep everything running smoothly before, during, and after the Worship Service.

Duties and Responsibilities: Be in the Worship Center by 9:30am. Distribute bulletins, assist with seating, collect offering, serve communion.
